Subject: statements of economic interest

This year the university is demanding Statements of Economic Interest
from all grant PIs, even though we aren't listed in Public Act 88-187
Section 4A-101(f). I'm tracking down the source of this screwup.

The current University Ethics Officer says that this demand comes from
the university lawyers. When I asked for documentation, she said that
she merely had a note from you.

Please send me a copy of what you received from the university lawyers. 
If it's in paper form, please fax it to 1-312-996-1491, and please send
me email indicating which university lawyer I should discuss this with.
