Copyright status of mail messages

Under the Berne convention, all documents are automatically copyrighted, even if they do not have copyright notices. In particular, my mail messages are copyrighted.

My transmission of a mail message does not constitute a copyright waiver or any other limitation of my rights, even if you have told me otherwise.

In particular, ISOC's attempt to steal copyrights from people who send mail to IETF mailing lists is in clear violation of the Uniform Commercial Code. I will not tolerate misuse of my copyrighted material.
