Bernstein" To: iesg@ietf.org Cc: djb@cr.yp.to Subject: namedroppers mismanagement Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii A week ago, I sent the IESG a complaint about the events described in http://cr.yp.to/dnscache/namedroppers.html The working group chairs, and now the area directors, appear to be trying to fix two problems: (1) Failure of the software to deliver messages immediately. (2) Failure of Bush to notify authors of his censorship actions. However, the other problems remain, and are clearly not going to be resolved by the area directors. My complaint stands. I will wait a few more days for the IESG's response. I also demand that the IESG immediately answer the following specific factual questions: (1) Before my December 1998 complaint, had the IESG already considered and approved Bush's methods of controlling the namedroppers mailing list? (2) Before my December 1999 complaint, had the IESG already considered and approved Bush's methods of controlling the namedroppers mailing list? (3) If the answer to #1 or #2 is yes: Why did the IESG not say so in response to my complaint? (4) If the answer to #1 or #2 is yes: Exactly what methods did the IESG approve, and when? (5) If the answer to #1 or #2 is yes: What steps did the IESG take to subject its action to public review? I'm eagerly looking forward to your answers. ---Dan
